Hi, I'm Jihern. I'm currently taking time off to drag myself out of the hellfires of burnout.

Before this self-funded sabbatical, I was the Founding Designer and Head of Design at Utopia Labs. There, I was tasked with shaping our design practice and product team, so that we could effectively scale our initial product for DAOs and iterate rapidly when we realized we would need to revisit our search for product-market fit.

Prior to that, I was a Senior Product Designer at Blend, where I led our Insurance and Realty business verticals, supported our broader Homeownership Journey business line, and mentored other designers. I also had the privilege of working across several teams at Thumbtack and at Evernote.

Outside of work, I enjoy building community with people who are similarly invested in the Bay Area, where I grew up. This has grown in personal importance with the continued implications of gentrification, wealth disparity, and politicization; and it has catalyzed many of my investments, including the Moringa Fellowship and Inneract Project.

Of course, I also spend a good chunk of my time on less serious matters, like walking aimlessly around the city, being overly competitive about volleyball, and finding ways to be creative and expressive.
